An excerpt

Two lists that should be identical

The insurer keeps the list of policies linked to your office; you keep your own. Comparing them reveals three situations: a policy with the insurer but missing from your records, a policy in your records but unknown to the insurer, and a policy on both sides with a different premium.

Each has a consequence: a missing policy escapes your follow-up, and a policy unknown to the insurer may not earn you any commission.

One franc of tolerance

A premium difference of a few centimes comes from rounding. Set a tolerance, for example CHF 1.00, and only address differences above it. A difference of CHF 250.00 on a business policy merits a question to the insurer; a difference of CHF 0.40 does not.
