An excerpt

The portal does the work, not the tracking

Each insurer offers its brokers a portal to cancel a policy, order a certificate, submit a mandate or report a claim. The insurer handles it. But no portal tells you what you requested from other insurers in the same week.

An office working with ten insurers therefore keeps ten separate histories. The question « Where does this cancellation stand? » means opening the right portal, finding the request and remembering the date it was sent.

Three details are enough

For each action, record the date sent, the reference provided by the insurer and the date when you will follow up. Without these three details, an unanswered request is only noticed when the client calls.

A follow-up period of ten working days suits most routine actions. Adapt it to your experience with each insurer.
